This beautiful painting with happy, bright colours was inspired by the colours of Damascus and other ancient cities. It has the atmosphere of colourful buildings that have faded and weathered through the centuries

Spirited World

Instinctive use of collage
is the basis for this unusual painting. It is inspired by old notice boards, where notices have been posted and then fallen away, leaving behind a fascinating residue of marks and torn papers.

This painting is hanging upstairs in the Hof van Melijn, beside my studio door.
