Bristol
Large expressive abstract
This painting is inspired by the wall of a cave in Bristol. The cave attracts many visitors, many of whom scratch their names or paint graffiti on the walls. The painting reflects the colourful blend of marks made by nature and human hands.

Ambohimanga 1
The weathered wall of a palace in Madagascar provided the inspiration for this painting. This is for you if you love warm colours and fascinating textures in an artwork. You'll want to come back and look at it time after time. It's a medium sized painting that will look great in a well-lit corner.

Toledo 2
A fresco in a church in Toledo was the inspiration for this painting. It's the sort of artwork that repays close inspection because there are so many interesting details in it. In tasteful, muted colours, this is a good sized painting that will add a sophisticated touch to a room.

Ambohimanga 3
The Queen's palace at Ambohimanga in Madagascar inspired this abstract painting, which features a rich interplay of colours and textures. I was drawn to the dark colours in the wall of the palace coupled with the creamy plaster that has cracked and fallen away leaving interesting patterns. The painting has layers of fluid gold paint printed on a dark background. Areas of thicker paint and splashes of vibrant blue add interest. It is a small painting that would look lovely in a cosy corner of a living room. It could be hung on its own or with another painting from the Ambohimanga series.

Ambohimanga 4
A playful abstract painting. Ambohimanga 4 was very loosely inspired by the cracks in the wall of the royal palace at Ambohimanga in Madagascar. This painting will make a striking addition to a modern art collection. Hang it on its own or with the others in the Ambohimanga series.

Edinburgh Vault Windows
This eye-catching painting is inspired by vault windows on George Square, next to Edinburgh University in Scotland. Vault windows are actually glass prisms set into the ground to let light into basements. Prisms were used instead of flat glass to disperse the light over a large area. Sometimes the prisms are purple, sometimes aqua coloured. You can see both these beautiful colours in this painting. Vault windows are no longer made as we use electric light in basements now. The history of these windows can spark interesting conversations.

The marble walls inside the Villa Empain in Brussels inspired this colourful painting. It can be paired nicely with my painting, Chesser, which has the same dimensions.

Mayfair 1
A simple but fascinating painting, which has a textured surface created by layers of collage. A noticeboard in Mayfair provided the inspiration for this painting and its sister, Mayfair 2. The pair look very nice when hung together.

Heist op den Berg
This photo is of a little piece of stone on the facade of the cultural centre in Heist op den Berg, Belgium. I love the way the yellow lichen creeps across the pale grey. Cracks in the stone and places where insects have scratched the surface make the photo interesting.
